Highlight Vault saves the following information locally on your device only:
- Text you choose to highlight and save
- The URL of the page where the highlight was made
- The title of the page (if available)
- The timestamp when you saved the highlight
How Your Information is Used
Your saved highlights are used exclusively within the extension to:
- Display your saved highlights in the extension popup
- Enable search functionality across your highlights
- Re-apply visual highlights when you revisit pages
- Allow you to export your data when requested
Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored using Chrome's local storage API
- Data never leaves your device
- No external servers or databases are used
- Data is as secure as your Chrome browser profile
Third-Party Access
We do not share your data with anyone because we never have access to it.
- No analytics services

Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- View all your highlights anytime through the extension popup
- Delete individual highlights or clear all data
- Export your data in JSON or text format
- Uninstall the extension to remove all associated data
